Charming and Centrally Located Hotel with Beautiful Decor, Cozy Rooms, and Modern Amenities – A Wonderful Stay!
It’s important to note that all guest suites are on the second floor, and there is NO ELEVATOR—something to keep in mind if you require one. As you ascend the stairs, you'll see an old freight elevator on display, which is a neat historical feature. Reaching the top of the stairs, you'll be struck by the beautifully finished vaulted ceiling.
We stayed in the Sunset on Broadway Suite 205, which was cozy and inviting with its tall ceilings. The room had all the essentials: a small refrigerator, a coffee maker with a selection of coffee and tea, and an ice bucket. The bathroom was modern and elegantly styled, equipped with a nice local bar of soap, a hair dryer, and quality body wash, shampoo, and conditioner.
Our two-night stay was nothing short of fantastic. We slept exceptionally well, and everything about this hotel was exceptional. It truly made for a wonderful experience!

Location! Location! Location!
There is no elevator; however, the two flights of stairs provided a landing for people who needed to stop with their luggage and rest. We are eighty years old.
The Midnight on Main was a lovely room. The color of the walls and ceiling was so striking. The picture frames provided us such a unique perspective. We kept talking about the physical room. And that was before we looked at all the special touches. Pre-measured coffee; refrigerator; bathroom amenities; so many light fixtures, and the opportunity to purchase something you might have forgotten. The microwave and ice machine were close by. The bed was a little too soft; but many like it that way.
Be sure to spend some time in the rooftop lounge area. It is beautiful and relaxing.
When booking any hotel room, the first issue is always safety and the second is location. This hotel provided both. It is an easy walk to Red on Main, the restaurant for dinner. Equally easy was The Crêperie for breakfast. Exiting through the back door will cut the walk nearly in half.
The Ohio River is also a short walk (remember, we are eighty years old). There is a walk-up restaurant serving soft-serve ice cream and sandwiches you can enjoy as you watch the river.)
If you don't stay at The Chandler Hotel when you visit Madison, you are truly missing out.
