Guest sickened by illegal substance; staff did NOTHING!! Please rethink your stay, because the staff won't help!
There is the strongest smell of synthetic Marijuana that I have ever smelled in my adult life wafting through the hallway and, even worse, coming under our door and into our room. I was awakened by it and it has caused me to feel nauseated and triggered a migraine.
When I called down to the front desk, I was told that there was nothing that the desk attendant could do, because she was the "only one there, and (we're) not allowed to leave the desk." To have a person working alone, and the hotel not having at least one person acting as security is completely astonishing to me!! I do not feel safe in this hotel, knowing that illegal actions are taking place, and there isn't even a security guard!
When I asked if there was ANYTHING she could do, she suggested that she could move us (punishing the victim......gee, thanks). When I asked if smoking synthetic cannabis was still illegal in GA, she said it was, and I suggested calling the police to come and investigate.
She immediately brushed that suggestion off and told me to "Have a good night."
We have been Hilton Honors members for the better part of 20 years, and have stayed at this particular hotel for at least the last 5 years, when we come down to visit my father for Thanksgiving or other times of the year. Given the unwillingness of the overnight employee to do ANYTHING to end the sickening, illegal activity that is currently taking place, as I type this review, means that we will likely move hotels tomorrow, if at all possible, and tonight will be our last stay at this hotel. Whether we will remain Hilton Honors Members, or ever stay at another Hilton property, remains to be seen.

The presence of any illegal substances or disruptive behavior is unacceptable. We are alarmed to hear about the smell of synthetic marijuana and how it impacts your health. No guest should ever feel unsafe or unwell while staying with us. We completely understand how this would cause frustration and a loss of confidence in our ability to provide a secure environment.
We are also disappointed to learn that the staff member on duty was unable to effectively address the situation. While it is true that solo staffing can sometimes limit immediate action, it does not excuse a lack of empathy or initiative. Suggesting you relocate rooms without addressing the root of the problem was not an adequate solution, and dismissing your request to involve the authorities was inappropriate. We will be addressing this incident with the employee involved and taking steps to reinforce proper protocols for responding to serious guest concerns.
Additionally, we will reassess our overnight staffing and security policies to prevent similar situations in the future. Your feedback highlights a critical area for improvement, and we are taking this very seriously.
Your patronage means a great deal to us, and we deeply regret that this incident has jeopardized your trust. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve, and we hope you’ll give us the chance to restore your faith in our hotel and brand.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, although I am truly sorry to hear about the issues you faced during your stay. I want to extend my sincerest apologies for the rudeness you encountered from our front desk staff and management. This is not the level of service we aim to provide, especially during such challenging times after Hurricane Helene.
I understand that after being without power for nine days, you deserved a warm and welcoming environment, and it’s disappointing to hear that we fell short of that. Your feedback regarding the lack of assistance and support from our team has been noted and will be addressed with our management to ensure that we improve in these areas.

I just can’t figure out why the room is so sparse. No closet, no dressers, no drawers anywhere, no place to put your suitcase unless it’s a very small overnight bag. They do provide 18” of metal pipe with some hangers on it to hang clothes from, but full length garments are going to be dangling on the immovable table below. In the entire room there is only one desk style chair to sit on, so if there are two of you who want to watch tv, one will have to sit on the bed. I just don’t get it.
